Amy Clay

Welcome!

I am a Teaching Assistant Professor of French and Director of the French Basic Language Program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I am currently working on the integration of virtual reality experiences as a means to contextualize beginning and intermediate French language learning. In addition to developing instructional materials, I research how instructed second language learners and their teachers understand grammar. My overarching interest is in developing engaging and impactful instructional practices that are supported by research.

Check out my Teaching Resources page. There, you will find links to resources for teaching French and links to more general resources regarding teaching in higher education.

Look for more content (teaching materials, tips for new teachers, links to materials for graduate students, and short blurbs on language instruction in higher education) coming soon.
